The Ella Train Hack: Getting a Seat When First Class is Sold Out

Kandy station is pure chaos and tickets sell out months ahead. Skip it. Take an early AC bus to Hatton or Nanu Oya, and board the train mid-route in unreserved 2nd class. The views are actually better from here, and seats free up fast as locals disembark.
