Day 1: Arrival in Sri Lanka | Coastal Rest in Negombo

A short drive takes you to your coastal hotel in Negombo. Day one is dedicated entirely to relaxation and recovery after your flight. Day 2: Negombo to Dambulla & Sigiriya | Sacred Cave Temples

Today we journey inland into the heart of Sri Lanka’s ancient Cultural Triangle.

Our first major highlight is the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site consisting of five spectacular massifs filled with ancient Buddhist murals and over 150 intricately carved statues. After exploring these sacred cliffside caverns, we drive to the serene countryside of Sigiriya to check into your resort and enjoy a relaxing evening surrounded by lush tropical landscapes.

Day 3: Sigiriya | Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Authentic Village Tour

Prepare for an iconic morning as we ascend the breathtaking Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion Rock), rising 200 meters above the jungle canopy. Marvel at the ancient water gardens, pass the vibrant Sigiriya frescoes, and climb through the colossal Lion’s Paws to reach the summit ruins for sweeping panoramic views.

In the afternoon, experience authentic island life with an immersive rural village tour. Enjoy a traditional bullock-cart ride, cruise across a scenic lotus-filled lake on a catamaran boat, and conclude with a live demonstration and tasting of a traditional Sri Lankan clay-pot lunch.

Day 4: Sigiriya to Kandy | Spice Gardens & Temple of the Tooth Relic

We leave the plains behind today and wind upward into the hill country, stopping at a lush spice garden in Matale to discover the natural cultivation of premium Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, and cocoa.

Arrive in the royal hill capital of Kandy. In the evening, visit the highly revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), located inside the historic royal palace complex. Experience a spiritual evening evening prayer ceremony (Thewava) filled with traditional drums and incense, followed by a scenic walk around the beautifully lit Kandy Lake.

Day 5: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya | Ramboda Falls & Emerald Tea Estates

Travel deeper into the majestic central highlands today toward Nuwara Eliya. En route, we will stop at the spectacular Ramboda Falls viewpoint to capture stunning photographs of the roaring cascading waterfalls.

As the climate turns crisp and cool, you will pass through endless carpeted emerald tea plantations. We will tour an authentic, working tea factory to learn the traditional processing techniques introduced during the British colonial era. Conclude your day with an elegant fresh tea tasting and a relaxed evening walk through the colonial-style streets of Nuwara Eliya.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya to Colombo | Vibrant Capital City Highlights

We descend from the misty mountains today and head towards the bustling commercial capital, Colombo, for a striking blend of old-world charm and modern development.

Embark on a guided city highlights drive, exploring the historic Fort area, the vibrant street markets of Pettah, and the scenic oceanfront promenade of Galle Face Green. You will also visit historic religious landmarks, including the iconic Gangaramaya Temple, and enjoy premium shopping opportunities for world-class local crafts and tea before your final night on the island.

Day 7: Colombo to Airport | Final Reminiscences & Departure

Enjoy your final breakfast in the capital city. Depending on your flight departure time, you can spend your morning picking up last-minute souvenirs or enjoying a relaxed coffee overlooking the city skyline.

Your private driver will then comfortably transfer you via the expressway back to the Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) for your departure flight home, bringing a magnificent end to your classical Sri Lankan experience.
